Bio
Yi-Shuan Lee is a Taiwanese-Canadian artist whose art practice includes painting, sculpture and film. As a first generation immigrant living in North America, Lee's works feature a striking play on odd and surreal narratives that are based on his life story. His works reveal the lives of the youth in Taiwan in this current era, while uncovering the stories of many struggling to outlive the expectations set from the previous generation. Lee find interest in sharing untold stories from South East Asia and introducing oriental perspectives in his art.
Lee received his BFA from OCAD University in 2017. He has since exhibited across Canada, China, Italy, Taiwan and The United States.
Lee works with Mark Christopher Gallery, which is based in Toronto, Canada. He works from both his Taipei and Toronto studios.
